FH Advocate Raising Awareness in Athens, Georgia

Advocate for Awareness Rhiannon Eades represented the Family Heart Foundation at a Community Wellness Fair on Saturday, July 23, at Athens-Clarke County Library in Athens, Georgia. The wellness fair brought nearly 20 local organizations together to share information about health, safety and wellness resources and to offer free screenings to the public. Rhiannon spoke to many attendees about familial hypercholesterolemia and the work of the Family Heart Foundation.

“Many of the people I spoke with had never heard of FH, and I heard a few stories of high cholesterol and family histories. I think events such as this one are important ways that we can be more visible in our communities. It was also a great way to network with other organizations in my local community who provide health and wellness services.”
