Inherited High Cholesterol: Journeys to FH Diagnosis and Care

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2020

On December 12, we went live for our first virtual FH Community Forum. In a moderated discussion led by Professor Amy Curry Sturm, Director of Genomic Counseling and Screening at Geisinger, individuals with FH and Homozygous FH shared their diverse perspectives to help us all understand what it's like when FH runs in the family.

"There are people with FH out there, like myself and the people on this panel, but we are not getting a diagnosis that we need to understand the condition and to take care of ourselves and our family members. So all the doctors, you can help people, like me, access the care that we need by looking for FH. And when you recognize it, diagnose your patients. I wish my father had had that opportunity, so we could have had a chance to prevent heart disease in our family."
