FH Grand Rounds: Montefiore University Hospital and Einstein College of Medicine in New York City
Familial Hypercholesterolemia was the topic of Department of Medicine Grand Rounds on March 3 at both Montefiore and Einstein in New York City. Dr. James Underberg, Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine and NYU Center for Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease, Director of Bellevue Hospital Lipid Clinic, Treasurer of the NLA and member of the Family Heart Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Board gave the lecture. He was joined by Stacey Lane, Family Heart Foundation Board of Directors, who shared her own family’s history of living with FH and spoke about the Family Heart Foundation’s efforts to improve the diagnosis and treatment of FH.
the Family Heart Foundation’s Grand Rounds Program seeks to raise awareness of FH in the medical community in order to improve the diagnosis and treatment of FH. The combination of FH expertise and the personal story told by an individual with FH is powerful. We have participated in Grand Rounds and similar events across the United States. If you are interested in holding a Grand Rounds or a Lunch and Learn on FH at your hospital or medical school, please contact us at [email protected].
Many thanks to Montefiore University Hospital and Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Underberg and Ms. Lane!
