Twitter Helps Raise Awareness of Familial Hypercholesterolemia
Researchers at the Mayo Clinic wanted to know if Twitter could help build awareness of familial hypercholesterolemia (FH). The answer was an emphatic yes. In their article published in leading cardiovascular journal, Circulation: Genomic and Precision Medicine, the team compared activity on social media by measuring the #KnowFH and other hashtags during FH Awareness Day activities in September 2018 compared to other months. As highlighted in the graph below, each of the Family Heart Foundation’s campaigns for FH Awareness Day, tweetathon and other events created a substantial spike in conversation.
We are so proud that the research highlighted the impact the Family Heart Foundation is making. In fact, our total reach was 42 million people around the world in September 2018. the Family Heart Foundation’s work would not have been possible without the support and participation of the entire FH Community. WE DID THIS!!!As we head into this year’s FH Awareness Day activities, we hope to go farther, raise awareness of FH with more people, and ultimately get them the diagnosis and care they need.
We need your support.
